Faith Bible High School is a small Christian school in our area. A few very good friends of ours are teachers there which inevitably gave us the opportunity to shoot their Winter Formal. At first I was a little apprehensive since I had pretty much believed that most teenagers would think the photo shoot would be stupid.
But, Faith Bible is nothing like my high school. Nothing like it all. In the hills of California, large mansions shadowed the parking lot where BMW after BMW was sitting freshly washed, taunting the kids that owned the Hondas of the world. It was amazing that to have a Honda at 16 was a disadvantage not a blessing. Can you believe it? Girls were rumored to have plastic surgery over the summers and the atmosphere was much like the TV show the Hills. And much like the Hills there was a whole lot of back stabbing going on. Since I was lost between the artsy kids, the preppy kids and the sporty spices of the school. I had my converse that had various sketches on the sides, cut off shorts, and man...my hair was a mess. Being slightly on the outside I watched kids get destroyed by teasing while the girls would torment each other. It was sad.
Faith Bible is nothing like my school. There were no categories or clicks and everyone seemed to be close friends. The kids thanked us time and time again and never hesitate to joke around with the adults which would never happen at most schools. They would throw there arms around a teacher to squeeze in for a photo and never hesitate to invite someone they didn't know. It was such a pleasure to be around kids that were so mature yet really knew how to let loose, have fun and enjoy the company of good friends. I am so proud to have friends who teach at such a great school and really hope that we will be invite back to capture more images in the future.
Mr. Webber is thee teacher to have...apparently. Hit was a hit and everyone wanted to have a photo with him. As you can see he didn't disappoint.
