I love me some country weddings. " I love me some..." is a phrase that I use when I not only like something but get a chill with excitement. A country wedding comes with fresh smells, clean air and all the elements of nature coming together as though mother nature is celebrating along with us. There is nothing so beautiful as shooting in natural light. I must be honest and say that in the height of winter I start to miss that sunshine that kisses a bride's face.
Heather, a gorgeous red head with angel kisses all over her face...(you know that is where freckles come from right? Angels kissing a little babies face.) She has that look as though the morning light is permanently shining down on her. Her golden hair sees to glow in the light and her face radiations with a beautiful grin. Heather was a pleasure to photograph. She had her moments of goofiness, but would often stop and stoically stair out the window as she contemplated her new life with Joe.
They had met years ago and their families quickly intertwined. As a celebration of their big day the entire family had rented cabins and camped out for a week prior to the wedding. It felt as though their ceremony was a culmination of many years and a very special week of families mixing. Tears weld up in eyes as they embraced their deepest friends, and all the while the sun shown down on them with approval.
The day was gorgeous and we felt so lucky to have been a part of it. This week was really tough for us. We had a wedding in Seattle the night before then a 6 hour drive for this wedding and a wedding back in Seattle (6 hours) the next day. We had very little sleep, but it never affected us. We love what we do. We love documenting love and the story of love. I love me some country weddings!
I just adore the look of natural light.
Eddie and I do millions of test shots on each other. This is one of them. So if you see us taking pictures of each other then please understand that we are not doing it because we think we are cute. It's a necessity. I just happen to love this image. You can see the sleepiness in his eyes.
I have to give props to this kid. He was dancing machine. He stole the dance floor and hogged it with welcoming cheers. He was amazing. I think we had over a 1,000 images of just him dancing. Crazy stuff.
Heather and Joe got married (and camped) at Crescent Lake Resort in Crescent Lake, OR
Great location, but not built for weddings. Could you pull of a great wedding? Heather and Joe did!

Great DJ! He is also a radio broadcaster so he has that classic booming voice that is so perfect getting peoples attention and livening up the party. He was a blast to work with, had no glitches, and made the evening really fun. Highly recommend!
