My fingernails dug into the seat and my feet pressed firmly against the floor as Eddie accelerated toward the turn. I thought our tire actually went over the side of the cliff. I held my breath until the road turned back toward the hillside where safety was blanketed in green grass. Every turn down the 101 highway was like this. Hundreds of turns, one after another. The road continually faced out toward the open sea as if it ended there and then some how turned back towards safety. It wasn't that I didn't trust Eddie. I did. I just don't like looking over a cliff edge while our car squeezes the turns. Oi! Needless to say we made it past every turn without any horrific crashes.
The coast was gorgeous and yielded some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever wiggled my toes in the sand on. We stopped at every single brown state park sign along the way to snap shots, eyeball the tide pools and throw the ball for Lucy. We shared crackers, Brie and the best cream soda to ever touch my lips. It was truly heaven on earth.
We sort of have this thing where we have to do jumping pictures every where we go. It's pretty dorky, but it's our little thing.
Oh, my gosh I love this pictures. Lucy looks so happy and completely worn out. At this point she was so tired that we would have to pick her up to put her in the car. She would sleep in between stops which was normally no more than 30 minutes. Such a happy girl.
See, it a little much I know.
These little squirrels were so friendly. If you sat on the ground they would come over to see if you had any munchies.
The squirrels and seagulls were duking it out over the munchies. It was hilarious. Here they are a little bit more calm.
The redwoods were so amazing. We hiked for miles just trying to absorb the amazing size of these trees.
We ended the day with a beautiful sunset, some cuddling and crackers with Brie before we called it a night.
