Oh, it was so romantic. We sat there on the hill as though we had the only spot overlooking the San Francisco bay. The wind was gusting up as if to threaten to take us off into the cloudy sky above us. We didn't care that the wind was howling and making a tornado of my hair. We didn't care that our fingers were too cold to open the peanuts that we brought with us. We didn't care that there cars parked behind us with couples kissing as if to celebrate the amazing view. Eddie and I were in our own place. A special place that I cherish very much. Those moments where we are not doing anything, but sitting, holding hands and just being....being totally in love and able to truly absorb that for at least a minute or two. This day we got more than a minute. We sat atop that hillside for more than an hour just enjoying the scenery, laughing about our trip and taking time lapse shots of the city. We had a blast that evening while doing absolutely nothing at all....but, enjoying each others company. Sometimes I forget just how easy it is to fall in love with Eddie and then I sit next to him while doing nothing at all and I fall head over heals all over again.
The trip wasn't over at this point, but I was so thankful that Eddie planned this unplanned trip of spontaneity. I need it. I love you honey. (yes, he reads my blog, we are each others number one fans!)
I am totally crazy over my dog Lucy. Her and I are like yin and yang. When I look at these pictures it makes me want to bury my face in her fur and hug her.
On this day the rain started to fall parallel to the ground. Or maybe I should say the wind was throwing the bullets of rain parallel to the ground. It was crazy and I wasn't feeling good so I sat in the car and watched Eddie venture out to the cliff edge to capture these images.
One of our favorites. So much of this part of California reminded us of Ireland.
I met this old man who lives just up the rock road who comes out here everyday to drink his coffee. He shared stories of whales tangled in buoys, his abalone fishing sons and how hard it was to wake up to this gorgeous view everyday. He was a hoot!
Again, I am sure you don't care, but this is Lucy's worried face. The look of terror she gives when everyone has left the vehicle and her in it.
In my last blog I talked about the cliff sides and the crazy turns we had to go on. This is a very mild example.
I love San Francisco and miss it so much. I was so glad to finally be able to sit with Eddie and view the Golden Gate while wrapped in a blanket and eating peanuts. The best!
We watched the clouds roll in over the city while small sections of rain poured down in a haze. It was beautiful.
We didn't want to leave and cap the day just yet so we grabbed our flashlights and started to play.
Be sure to check out Eddie's blog at LyfePhotography.blogspot.com. He has one shot of him jumping that is totally amazing.
Uh...to die for.
